I was introduced to a new colleague. Vibrant, good-looking, and a single-parent. She happened to my assistant, and she does it well. She attended all my needs. We traveled together,   met clients and closed all our deals, with no fail.  Years on, my company grew better and better. From 20 staff, it grew to 150.

I was promoted, and she was sacked. Over a beer, when my friendly colleague asked me, why she was thrown off from the company – my answer was simple.  “She didn’t achieve my targets”.
